All sports harm you:
- cricket
damages your arm
- football
hurts the back of your knee
- the
water in swimming disturbs the delicate balance
of intake of nutrients from the air and disposal
of waste products through the skin
- running
and jogging jolts the body and harms the feet,
knees, spine and brain
- cycling
harms the thigh muscles by making them short,
and squashes and makes hard the abdomen
- tennis
harms your wrist, elbow and shoulder
- skiing
causes the abdomen to be hard
- dancing,
even slowly, disturbs the nerve cells in your
body
- yoga
exercises (“asanas”) are also not good for you
in general (see my article “Asanas and Sex”).
- sit-ups
and weight lifting, etc, disturb the brain and
harm the abdomen and other parts of your body
and damage the emotional energy centre
- climbing
stairs is bad for your knees
- going
down stairs requires concentration that harms
the tranquillity of your brain
If
you put up with pain in exercise then you are
also damaging your love energy centre. In all
exercise, it is most important that your brain
is completely relaxed (no frowning, gnashing of
teeth, etc). Your abdomen should be relaxed, soft,
except sometimes in sex.
Sitting
is bad for you as the leg muscles atrophy, the
abdomen is squashed, and the brain becomes dull.
Thus, for example when writing, watching TV, eating
etc, one should if possible be on the floor in
a variety of different positions. When going to
the lavatory, one should not sit but preferably
squat or, failing that have your bottom a little
above the lavatory rim.
Having
said all that, an active, natural life is optimal.
In any job it is inevitable that you will have
to do some activities that are not beneficial
to you. You need to carry shopping, do cooking,
etc. Doing many things, even sports, is good for
you overall, sitting in front of a TV or computer
screen all day is most harmful to you. It causes
tremendous stress to your nervous system, this
system being the one that for almost all of us
living today is going to fail first and cause
you tremendous suffering in the next ten or twenty
years (see: "Pollution
Can Be Good For You"). Being in a warm
room all day is equally harmful to you: you need
to be exposed to the natural weather and not be
completely insulated with an excess of heavy clothes.
It results in you feeling cold in mild weather
and not being able to tolerate heat in only slightly
warm weather, and means that you catch disease
quickly and recover slowly.

In
terms of sex, you (man and woman) should know
that it is not competitive (just as walking is
not competitive). Hence you do not need to prepare
your body for sex. However, in this age, both
men and women are choosy. Also, there are not
as many good men and good women to marry as in
previous generations. Hence a man (not a woman)
may need to develop his arm muscles (through push-ups,
not weight lifting) and his leg muscles (through
a succession of squatting and standing). He needs
to do this about 5 minutes per day prior to marriage,
not after marriage. The genital organs of both
man and woman need regular exercise each day prior
to marriage so that the person maintains a high
level of desire necessary for a good marriage.
